Dress Code & Weapons Policy

What is the Montana Renaissance Festival’s dress code?

For the grand Montana Renaissance Festival, we beseech our esteemed guests to don attire befitting the splendid era of the Renaissance or the myriad realms of fantasy.

Yet fear not, for those who wish to tread the grounds in their customary garb, such choice is well within the bounds of acceptability.

In our quest to uphold a gathering congenial to all ages, we decree that shoes shall be worn at all times.

The festival reserves the sovereign right to withhold entry or to escort forth any individual whose apparel is deemed unsuitable or that may detract from the enjoyment of others in attendance.

Can I bring weapons if they’re a part of my costume?

At the Montana Renaissance Festival, we delight in the rich tapestry of costumes that our guests bring to the festivities, including those that feature weapons as part of their historical or fantastical ensembles.

However, for the safety and enjoyment of all festival-goers, we require that any weapons included as part of a costume be peace-tied and rendered incapable of causing harm.

All weapons will be inspected at the festival entrance, and we reserve the right to refuse admittance to anyone carrying a weapon that could be deemed unsafe or inappropriate.

This policy ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, allowing everyone to immerse themselves fully in the magic of the Renaissance era.

General Questions

What is your pet policy?

At the Montana Renaissance Festival, we hold dear the safety and comfort of all our festival-goers, hence our policy regarding pets is crafted with great consideration. Alas, pets are not permitted within the festival bounds and must not be left unattended in parked carriages.

However, in adherence to the Montana Human Rights Act, we warmly welcome service animals accompanying our esteemed patrons and guests. These faithful companions are allowed in most areas of our festival, save for performances involving animals, exhibits, or rides to ensure the safety and well-being of all creatures present. It is requisite that service animals don attire such as a vest, leash, collar, or backpack that clearly identifies them as service animals, in compliance with the said Act.

We also remind our guests that it is unlawful to misrepresent a pet as a service animal. We kindly request that you provide for your service animal’s needs, including sustenance and hydration, and have on hand the necessary implements for waste management. All service animals must be securely leashed at all times and be current on their vaccinations, as per the decree of our festival’s policy, to maintain the highest standards of health and safety.

What is your smoking policy?

At the Montana Renaissance Festival, we hold the health and comfort of all our patrons in the highest regard. In adherence to this commitment, there is no smoking allowed on the festival grounds.

We have designated specific areas OUTSIDE the festival grounds. These areas have been chosen to ensure that all guests, including those with sensitivities or preferences against smoking, can enjoy the festival in comfort.

If I leave the park, will I be able to get back in without having to purchase a new ticket?

Yes you will receive a wristband or handstamp for re-entry.

Are taking pictures and/or videos allowed?

At the Montana Renaissance Festival, we wholeheartedly encourage the capturing of memories and the sharing of thine own experiences through photographs and videos. ‘Tis a splendid way to preserve the magic of the festival and share the joy with others.

We find that most festival-goers are delighted to have their likenesses captured or to pose with others, contributing to the shared merriment and memories of the day. Nonetheless, we kindly request that all festival-goers seek permission before taking photographs or videos of non-performers. This courteous approach ensures respect for the privacy and comfort of all our guests, allowing everyone to enjoy the festival to the fullest.

We greatly appreciate thy cooperation in this matter and look forward to seeing the festival through thine eyes. Share thy captures with us using the hashtag #MontanaRenFest, and perchance, see thine images featured in our future promotions. Let us together create a tapestry of memories that will last a lifetime!

Is First Aid available?

Indeed, the Beartooth Billings Clinic doth nobly sponsor and staff a First Aid Booth at our festival, ensuring that care and succor are readily available to all who might require assistance. This commitment to the health and well-being of our guests is paramount, and we are grateful for their support in providing this essential service.

Furthermore, they have assured us that the methods of yore, such as the use of leeches, shall not be employed in their treatments, ensuring a blend of modern medical practices within our historical revelry.

Is there Wi-Fi at the festival?

Alas, within the bounds of our Montana Renaissance Festival, the modern marvel of Wi-Fi is not available for participants. Fear not, for those with devices magical and mundane, good cellular access through thine own providers doth ensure thou canst still connect with the world beyond our festival’s borders. Let not the absence of Wi-Fi dismay thee, for the festival is replete with wonders and spectacles that shall engage and entertain, making the need for such modern conveniences but a distant thought.

Will I be able to use my debit/credit cards at the Montana Renaissance Festival?

At the Montana Renaissance Festival, most of our skilled merchants and vendors graciously accept debit and credit cards, allowing thee to easily procure goods and services throughout the festival.

For those merchants who operate on a cash-only basis, fear not, for we have strategically placed ATMs throughout the festival grounds to ensure that thou hast access to coinage as needed. This arrangement ensures that all attendees can partake in the festival’s offerings with ease, be it through the magic of modern banking or the simplicity of cash transactions.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

No outside food and drinks are allowed.

What is your alcohol policy?

In our grand Montana Renaissance Festival, whilst we revel in merriment, we also uphold a policy of responsibility concerning libations. Thus, all spirits and brews must be procured from our esteemed alcohol vendors within the festival’s bounds. This ensures that all beverages enjoyed are of the finest quality and served with the safety of our patrons in mind.

What is your weather policy?

The Montana Renaissance Festival goes on rain or shine
